Building a website for your travel business: 12 things it must do before launch

By AnyInfraTech Team · · Updated 12 Oct 2026

A travel website has one job: turn a curious visitor into an enquiry or a booking. Before you launch (or relaunch), check it against this list. It's the same list we use on client projects.

The checklist

  1. It's fast on a phone. Most visitors are on mobile data, often in the hills. Test your key pages on a real phone over 4G.
  2. Every package has its own page with itinerary, inclusions, exclusions and price, rather than a PDF download.
  3. Prices are visible. "Price on request" loses people who are comparing. Show at least a "from" price per person.
  4. Contact is one tap away. A sticky WhatsApp and call button on mobile, plus a short enquiry form.
  5. The enquiry form asks only what you need: name, WhatsApp, travel dates, number of people, destination.
  6. Trust is visible: registration or licence details, real photos, Google reviews, the team, and a physical office address.
  7. Online payment works: UPI and cards for deposits, with an automatic confirmation.
  8. SEO basics are in place: unique titles and descriptions, one H1 per page, clean URLs, an XML sitemap, and structured data. See our SEO checklist for tour operators.
  9. One canonical domain: either www or non-www, with the other redirecting to it, on HTTPS.
  10. Tracking is set up: Google Analytics 4, Search Console and conversion tracking on form submissions and WhatsApp clicks, so you know which ads bring bookings.
  11. Leads go somewhere reliable: into a CRM or at least a shared inbox, not one person's email. (See why that matters.)
  12. Someone owns updates. Seasons, prices and rules change every year. Decide who updates the site and how.

Before you sign off

Click through every page on a phone, submit every form, and test a small payment. Then ask someone who has never seen the site to find a package and enquire about it, and watch where they get stuck.
